Valid question. If the balloons matter more you can quite frankly get 3 balloons from any supermarket for little more than a dollar.
Post them to your friend with a simple message
"Blow on these for a good time"
And look, you will have saved yourself like $80 and lost a friend, which over a lifetime of birthdays and Xmas' will save you thousands.
