Balagorang Native Bouquet
The florist says...
"Balagorang" - An impressive and long-lasting bouquet typically including banksia, kangaroo paw and leucadendron, wrapped and tied in natural tones.
BFO says...
I had to hunt to find out what Balagorang stands for.
It is an aboriginal name which means "Kangaroo Feeding Ground". There you are, you have learned something new today.
I also discovered that Bandianna means bandy legged native lady. Which I found surprising, I knew a Dianna once and she was bandy legged - but fast. So we never called her that... well not to her face. Not sure where she was a native of though.
Did you know Arramagong means "wombats run into holes"? Well me neither. I do now. That is a mouthful though.
And when you next ask for a glass of water ask for a Coombell it will make your day so much more interesting!
To find out more Aboriginal words you can find them here - although we don't know if they are just a load of Ko'on or not.
