Strauss, was a German composer.
He did things a lot like operas, tone poems (Google it) and Lieder.
Apparently his music was the first ever recorded on a compact disc. Not that he as alive then but obviously the first CD was printed with his powerful tunes on it.
Interestingly his wife was noted for being bossy, ill-tempered, eccentric and outspoken, although it is also reported their marriage appeared to be essentially happy.
We believe with absolutely no proof to back this up that the reason he and his bossy old nag were happy was because he bought her loads of flowers and that he understood she worked her fingers to the bone to support his early career which left them poor and struggling so he could be an "artist".
He never made flowers though. These are just named after someone called Strauss which might not even be him anyway.
